IT IS NOW ESSENTIAL THAT WHEREVER POSSIBLE YOU KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME FOR THEIR SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. KEEPING YOUR CHILD AT HOME WILL SAVE LIVES.
EVEN IF YOU ARE A KEY WORKER YOU SHOULD ONLY SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL AS A VERY LAST RESORT.
iF YOU DO REQUIRE EMERGENCY CHILDCARE PLEASE EMAIL email@example.com AS MUCH IN ADVANCE AS IS POSSIBLE. PLEASE DO NOT JUST ARRIVE AT SCHOOL AS SOME DAYS STAFF ARE WORKING FROM HOME WHEN THERE ARE NO PUPILS DUE IN.
As of 24th March you will be aware that the UK is in lock down. Calderdale Council have provided the following update on the new national instructions (click to read the letter here):
Everyone at Midgley thanks you for your support in this matter. This is our way of enssuring the health and safety of others in this unprecedented time.
Please note that if you require a paper copy of any of the information on this website it will be provided to you from the school office free of charge.
Thank you for visiting our school website. Here, you will find lots of useful and interesting news and information about our school.
Midgley School is a smaller than average primary school set in the hilltop village of Midgley. We have 104 pupils on roll and we pride ourselves on knowing all of our pupils and families very well.
The school is split into 4 classes; 2 classes covering Foundation/KS1 (4-6year olds) and 2 classes covering Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds). We offer a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs and abilities of all of our pupils. We encourage children to develop their own talents and skills, in order for them to reach their full potential.
We recognise the vital role that parents play in their child’s education. We welcome parent’s involvement through the support they give at home, through becoming a parent volunteer in school if they wish or parents may choose to join in with our Midgley School PTFA. Parents are very welcome to join us for ‘Open classrooms’ and Celebration assembly every Friday morning.
Our most recent Ofsted was in January 2017. We are delighted that Ofsted continues to grade us as ‘Good’ following a short one day inspection. You can read the report on the Ofsted section under the 'Key Information' tab on this website. We hope that you will enjoy the journey with us to become ‘Outstanding!’
If you have any further queries about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact us.
