Mrs Bennett
Monday:
Maths: Please use the links below to access the video to go with each worksheet. Year 5 have two Maths sessions today as Year 6 will be in Forest School this week. On Tuesday, there won't be any additional work set as the children in school will be taking part in a safer internet workshop, so Year 5 children could save one Maths activity for Tuesday if you know you definitely won't be in. There are also new Flashback 4 questions attached for Monday to Thursday this week. Again, don't complete the activities beyond when you expect to be back in school.

You can present your project in any way that you wish – you could make a poster, a book, a model, etc. Please bring your work into school by the end of this half term – Friday 18th February. I would like to use your finished work to create a display in school.
Friday:
SPaG: Please work through the presentation about concise noun phrases and then complete the activities.
Comprehension: Have a go at the comprehension activity about Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year was on Tuesday 1st February and 2022 is the year of the tiger!
Other Activities: Use the rest of today to complete anything that you haven't finished this week. Have another look at any maths that you have found difficult, complete your homework in your CGP books, continue with your 'Ice Matters' work. Or do something exciting at home and send me some pictures - you could bake a cake, create a piece of art work, play with a pet, play a board game...
I hope you have a lovely weekend and I will set more home learning for you on Monday. Mrs Bennett
Thursday:
Maths: Please complete the maths activity for your year group as above, either in your book if you have it or using the attached worksheet. You can find the videos using the links below...

I hope that you are all ok, Mrs Bennett.

Mrs Bennett
Thursday:
Maths: Please complete the maths worksheet for your year group. Year 6 children will need to use the following link for their video rather than the link above, as their work is a recap of learning from the Autumn term: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning?year=year-6&term=autumn

Tuesday: Hello Class 4!! I hope that you are all ok - we are really missing you in school. Please feel free to email us to say hello if you would like to!
The resources for your work today can be found above.
Maths: Please select the worksheet for your year group and use the link at the top of the page to find the video with the same title as your worksheet.
English: In school today we will be reviewing the story of Beowulf. We will be talking about how Beowulf defeated Grendel in Heorot Hall and will be thinking about how we could report this success to the people of Denmark. We will be talking about the features of a newspaper report and will be planning our own report about Beowulf's success. You can use the PowerPoint and resources above to help you to think about newspaper report features and to start to plan your own report. We will be writing our reports on Wednesday in school, so save writing your actual report until then! You can also continue to work on your 'Ice Matters' booklet if you have time today.
Year 5 Spelling: In school Year 5 will have a spellings focus session today and will complete their handwriting activity - these are attached above. Year 6 children will have this job to do tomorrow.
Science: Our Science lesson this afternoon will be our final one in this topic. We will be focusing on the lifecycle of a bird and will then be moving on to compare all of the lifecycles that we have learnt about. Use the PowerPoint presentation to learn about the lifecycle of a bird. You could also watch this video to learn more about the different parts of an egg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDv0Nnyb1WA
Once you have done this, write a paragraph to compare the lifecycles of a bird, mammal, amphibian, insect and plant.
Don't forget to get in touch if you have any questions or if you would like to share what you have been doing! Have a nice day! Mrs Bennett
